PROVO, Utah (Oct 8) — Congratulations to all the Utah public high school marching bands that competed Tuesday at the 35th annual Rocky Mountain Marching Band Invitational at LaVell Edwards Stadium. We extend our sincere thanks to Brigham Young University and the Rocky Mountain Marching Band Invitational for their hospitality.
In some cases, additional photos are available and will be released upon request to directors of the bands photographed. Do not write to us for the names of students in the photographs. First, although the event itself is newsworthy, the participation of individual students is not. Second, we don’t even know the names. And third, it is strictly against our policies to publish names of photographed students. Even if you know the names, our copyright prohibits you from tagging them on Facebook or using our images in a way that is not related to the newsworthy event for which they were taken.
Directors who would like all the photos we took can email us (see About). Photos are published under a Creative Commons license, which means you’re free to copy them and put them in your own content, including school newspapers and yearbooks, but in every case, we have higher resolution copies than those published. Additional photos are available for almost all bands, which we would be glad to provide.

Rough guidelines to scoring
Bands are classified by the size of the band, excluding auxiliary and drum majors. On the score sheet, each category counts for one-sixth of the total, and within each category, the three subcategories receive equal weighting. No judges were on the field during the performances.
