‘Little Shop of Horrors’ bookends Halloween

One of the most ‘haunting’ numbers in musical theater is “Dentist” from Little Shop of Horrors, according to Broadway Direct.

“Horror doesn’t always have to be a monster lurking around the corner or a killer wielding a bloody knife,” writes Mark Robinson in a feature story. “Sometimes the commonplace and everyday can be just as frightening—like accidentally visiting a sadistic dentist who revels at drilling too far and too deep. Little Shop of Horrors is the musical and Orin Scrivello is the doctor who will be seeing to your … toothache.”

“Dentist” by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, as part of a production of Little Shop of Horrors, will provide high school theatergoers across the country with all they need to know of this doctor’s services this weekend and next:

Voxitatis hasn’t confirmed any of the shows above, but these schools were originally licensed to perform the musical on the dates listed, according to Music Theater International, which licenses the production for performance.
