Univ of Iowa marching band to conduct open rehearsal at Downers Grove North

-

The Hawkeye Marching Band from the University of Iowa, one of the Big 10’s premiere marching bands, will conduct an open rehearsal at Downers Grove North High School (maps) on Saturday, Sept. 1.

The rehearsal, a preparation for the band’s performance at Soldier Field in a game between Iowa and Northern Illinois University, will start at 9 a.m. and end at 11 a.m. It’s open to the public, and there’s no charge to get in.

The staff at North High School specifically extended an invitation to the public “to experience the sights and sounds of this fabulous Big-Ten marching ensemble.”

For those considering participation in a marching band at a Big 10 school (or any college or university, for that matter), this might be a good thing to check out if you have no other plans for the morning of Sept. 1.
