Police said a student was stabbed at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland, Monday morning, allegedly by another student at the high school, WTOP News in Washington reports.
Montgomery County police spokeswoman Shiera Goff said the student victim had injuries that were not life-threatening. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspect was taken into custody a few hours after police were called to the high school.

The suspect has been charged as an adult with attempted second-degree murder, assault, and reckless endangerment, Montgomery County police said in an update Tuesday, according to a report on NBC-4 News.
Following the incident, the school was locked down for a brief period, during which the suspect’s parents brought him back to the school to be arrested.

Principal Renay Johnson at Blair High School said the student victim had been released from the hospital and was recovering at home, NBC-4 reported.
