Abstract:

We present instructions for what to expect when attending marching band festivals. These multi-band performance extravaganzas (or, competitions at which a grand champion is named) often last the whole day, and the most important thing you can do as a spectator is show your support: be there and don’t show disrespect toward others who are also trying to enjoy the spectacle. But cheer loudly and often. This is the way to help band members improve, which is ultimately the goal of every educational endeavor.
