A suburban Chicago prom turned awesome Saturday night, as a pair of famous DJs crashed it before performing in their own show at a nearby arena, the Chicago Tribune reports.

“It was across the street from our arena show, so why not :)” the performers tweeted later, posting a photo from the event.
“We had an epic party, that’s for sure,” the paper quoted Scott Rowe, the principal at Huntley High School, after the prom, which was held at a hotel in northwest-suburban Rosemont, Illinois. The Chainsmokers crashed the prom before heading over to the nearby Allstate Arena for their own show.

Disappointed he couldn’t both attend the prom and the show, a student at the high school reportedly contacted the band after learning that his prom and the show were to be held on the same day.
“It was one of most difficult secrets I’ve kept, because I knew the kids were going to go berserk for it,” Rowe said after catching up on some sleep Sunday afternoon. “It definitely set the tone for the best prom I’ve ever been to.”
Huntley High School serves about 2,800 students, and the story was originally reported by Juan Perez Jr.
