Illinois state scholars celebrated in many places

-

The announcement of this year’s Illinois state scholars by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission has run in dozens of media outlets to date, recognizing thousands of high school students named by the commission for 2018-19, based on high scores on college entrance tests.

Reports have also run in student newspapers, underscoring the accomplishment of students in our schools.

“About 10 percent of seniors in Illinois receive this award,” writes Catherine Bosch in the student newspaper at Benet Academy in Lisle. “However, this year 164 Benet Academy seniors were recognized as Illinois state scholars. This was over 53 percent of the senior class.”
