Along with the awards came words of high praise from professional journalists. “For a high school newspaper website, I’d put this up against any professional newspaper site in the country,” judges said of The Mirror. “It’s clean. It provides news from all spectrums of the high school.”

Awards won:

  • Best High School News Website
  • Best High School Newspaper
  • Best Feature Writing, Off Campus Issues (2nd place)
  • Best Feature Writing, Campus Issues (2nd place)
  • Best Arts Writing (3rd place)
  • Website, Traditional News Organization (3rd place)

In the “Website, Traditional News Organization” category, the site’s award was third to The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, which are professional news organizations based in Southern California.
