The Champaign-Urbana News-Gazette is reporting that Robert Derr, 15, of Urbana, was arraigned on charges that he allegedly assaulted a girl who was under 9-years-old.
If convicted of these charges, he could face up to 30 years in prison.
Because of the seriousness of the sexual assault, and based on information prosecutors learned from subsequent interviews with the young girl, the case was moved to an adult court in Champaign County.
