A student opened fire inside a cafeteria in a high school near Seattle, Wash., in the morning of Oct 24. One other student and the shooter are dead, police said, the Washington Post reports.
The gunman shot five people at Marysville-Pilchuck High School, just north of Seattle, and then shot himself, CNN reported, citing law enforcement officials.
Three of the four five injured people were said to be in critical condition as of Friday afternoon.
The shooting was first reported at about 10:45 AM Pacific time, when someone in the school called 911, according to a report in the Seattle Times, although the time has differed by about 15 minutes, depending on the source of the information.
Some students identified the shooter as Jaylen Fryberg, the Seattle Times noted. He may have been angry at a girl who wouldn’t date him, and the girl may have been one of the people shot.
