Saturday he served as grand marshal for the 88th annual Bud Billiken Day Parade, which has been ringing in the start of the school year in Chicago for generations.
Then, after that, he announced he would be performing a free concert after the parade so the enjoyment could continue.
About 30,000 backpacks were handed out free to students at the parade, the Chicago Sun-Times reported, additional free stuff on top of Chance’s performance in the parade and afterwards.
