Prom season and the end of the school year often lead kids to misbehave and make destructive decisions. To drive home a point, teachers from Meade High School in Ft. Meade, Md., took about 60 students to see the sentencing that follows some of those destructive decisions in one district courtroom in Anne Arundel County, the Maryland Gazette reports.
Lots of states and other organizations, every one of them well intentioned, have advice for kids and parents:

And our take on all of this is as follows: Underage drinking is allowed in some states, like Maryland, under certain circumstances. Yes, I think this law should be changed, but right now, it stands. Laws in other states vary, but in every state, driving while intoxicated is illegal.
Don’t do it under any circumstances. And, if you find yourself drunk with only your own car and you’re unable to drive it home, there are organizations that can help at times when a parent or other sober person is unavailable. The “AAA DUI Justice Link” is here. They have groups in every state, some of which will provide a driver to take you home in your own car.
Whatever you do, if you’re drunk, don’t drive.
