Concern grows over recent cluster of child suicides

With three suicides in Northern Illinois during the last three weeks, officials are concerned that we are not paying enough attention to the signs of depression in young children, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

These signs may include any of the following:

  • prolonged sadness or irritability
  • poor grades
  • changes in sleeping or eating habits
  • weight loss
  • lack of interest in favorite activities
